NSW increases child-protection caseworker pay by 4% and offers $8,283 boost for new hires to address severe staff shortages.
New South Wales (NSW) will increase pay for over 2,000 child-protection caseworkers to combat severe staff shortages, with a minimum 4% raise and an $8,283 boost for new hires this financial year. The agreement, made with the Public Service Association, also includes a 0.5% superannuation increase and plans to establish a standalone classification for child protection workers. This follows a critical audit of the state's child protection services and recent staff walkouts.
