The Manitoba government has extended its moratorium on new licenses for controlled-access cannabis outlets in urban areas, including Winnipeg, until December 1, 2025. Initially set to end this week, the extension aims to allow further review of the industry and consultations with stakeholders to ensure that young people do not easily access cannabis products. The moratorium was first enacted last spring to address these concerns.
