Juul Labs initiates $300M class action settlement for e-cigarette safety and minor marketing allegations.
Juul Labs, in conjunction with Altria, has initiated payouts from a $300 million class action settlement addressing allegations of misleading consumers about the safety and addictiveness of their e-cigarettes and illegal marketing to minors. Approximately 842,000 eligible claimants are receiving payments based on verified purchases. While Juul did not admit wrongdoing, Altria denied the allegations. The deadline for claims was February 5, 2024.
