Kevyn Lopez, a 26-year-old inmate at Hutchinson Correctional Facility in Kansas, was found dead in his cell on October 21. He was serving a nearly 8-year sentence for voluntary manslaughter. Despite attempts at resuscitation, he was pronounced dead at the facility. An autopsy is pending, and investigations by the Kansas Department of Corrections and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation are underway to determine the circumstances of his death.
