Bobby Cirpaci, a 29-year-old from Co Donegal, was sentenced to six months in prison, suspended for two years, for having someone else take his driving theory test to obtain a provisional license. The court found his actions undermined the National Driver Licence Service. Although his solicitor described it as a "stupid mistake" and there was no evidence he drove illegally, Judge Ciaran Liddy stressed the seriousness of the offense and the need for accountability.
