NFL approves Guardian Caps, reducing head injury impacts by 10-20% during games.

The NFL has approved Guardian Caps, soft-shell helmet covers, to reduce head injuries during games. While they can decrease impact severity by 10% to 20%, some players, including Tua Tagovailoa, opt not to wear them due to comfort concerns. The league reports its fewest preseason concussions since 2015, with a 24% drop, partly due to these caps. Over 300 college and 3,000 high school programs also use them.
