New Zealand study finds blackcurrants' compound sarmentosin, inhibiting MAO-B and enhancing mood in healthy adults.

A study from New Zealand's Plant & Food Research and Callaghan Innovation indicates that blackcurrants may enhance mood and reduce mental fatigue in healthy adults. The research, published in The Journal of Agricultural Chemistry, identifies sarmentosin, a new compound that inhibits monoamine oxidase-B (MAO-B) enzymes, which break down dopamine. Ārepa has patented sarmentosin for potential use in boosting mood and cognitive function.
