2024 National Youth Tobacco Survey finds youth tobacco use at a 25-year low, with e-cigarette use falling significantly.

The CDC's 2024 National Youth Tobacco Survey reveals that youth tobacco use has hit a 25-year low, with 2.25 million middle and high school students reporting use, down from 2.8 million in 2023. The decline is largely due to a drop in e-cigarette use, which fell to 1.63 million users. Despite this progress, e-cigarettes remain the most popular among teens, followed by nicotine pouches. Health officials highlight ongoing disparities in usage among different ethnic groups.
