Morocco's FM rejects UN's Western Sahara partition proposal, asserting it as Moroccan territory.
Morocco's Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita has rejected a UN proposal to partition Western Sahara, a territory largely controlled by Morocco and claimed by the pro-independence Polisario Front. The proposal, suggested by UN envoy Staffan de Mistura, aims to divide the area to resolve the ongoing conflict. Bourita emphasized that Morocco will not negotiate its sovereignty, maintaining that Western Sahara is Moroccan territory. The dispute has persisted since Spain's withdrawal in 1975.
