Longueuil begins deer cull in Michel-Chartrand Park due to overpopulation.

The City of Longueuil, near Montreal, has started a deer cull in Michel-Chartrand Park due to an overpopulation of white-tailed deer, which poses ecological risks and health concerns. The cull, permitted by the provincial Environment Department, follows a court ruling against animal rights activists who sought to relocate the deer instead. The park is currently closed as hunters use air rifles to manage the population.
