India introduces system to block 90% of spoofed international calls, in an effort to combat scams and impersonation.

The Indian government has introduced the "International Incoming Spoofed Calls Prevention System" to combat incoming international calls that falsely display Indian numbers. In its first 24 hours, telecom providers blocked about 90% of these calls, which are often linked to scams and impersonation. The initiative, developed by the Department of Communications in collaboration with telecom companies, aims to enhance digital safety for Indian citizens against cyber-crime.
