German prosecutors have indicted an Iraqi national, Mahmoud A., for allegedly planning a bomb attack in Germany on behalf of the Islamic State group. Arrested in June, he faces charges of membership in a foreign terrorist organization and preparing a serious act of violence. Mahmoud A. reportedly joined IS in 2016 and began planning the attack in January 2022, acquiring chemicals and components for a bomb before being apprehended.
