The Bangladesh government will restrict tourism on Saint Martin's Island to safeguard its environment. From November, overnight stays will be banned, allowing only day visits. In December and January, a maximum of 2,000 tourists can stay overnight daily. February will see a complete closure for cleanup. Additionally, a ban on single-use plastics has been implemented to protect the island's fragile ecosystem, which has only 41% of its coral remaining.
