Australia proposes new online safety codes, including age verification for adult content, by 2025.

Australia is proposing new online safety codes aimed at protecting children from explicit content, which could be implemented by 2025. The Draft Online Safety Codes would require adults to undergo age verification to access pornographic websites and certain online games. Additional measures include automatic detection of nude images in messaging services and prohibiting sexual extortion on dating platforms. Public feedback is being sought before submission to the eSafety Commissioner.
