After 104 years, WWI veteran Pvt. Joseph Tardiff from Maine received a headstone at St. Peter's Cemetery in Lewiston. Tardiff was wounded in France in 1918 and died on June 15, 1920, at age 36. Although he had a military honors funeral, his grave remained unmarked until his great-nephew, Don Brasier, uncovered his story through genealogy research on Ancestry.com.
