The trial of Tingjun Cao, accused of murdering Christchurch real estate agent Yanfei Bao, begins today. Bao, 44, went missing on July 19, 2023, and her remains were discovered over a year later. Cao, 53, was initially charged with kidnapping but was later charged with murder and has pleaded not guilty. The trial is expected to last up to six weeks. Bao's family has thanked the public and police for their support throughout the investigation.
