Ontario has appointed Dr. Jane Philpott, a former federal Liberal health minister, to lead a new Primary Care Action Team with the goal of connecting all Ontarians to a primary care provider within five years. Starting December 1, Philpott aims for 100% of residents to have access to a family doctor or nurse practitioner. The plan focuses on improving service availability, reducing the administrative load on providers, and enhancing connections to specialists and digital tools.
