Malaysia extends freeze on foreign worker quota applications, citing legal limit nearing.

Malaysia's Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail announced the continuation of the freeze on foreign worker employment quota applications due to the foreign workforce nearing the legal limit, as of September 15. The decision aims to maintain the workforce within the established cap. The freeze will persist until a future date is revealed, and there are no plans to renew the Workforce Recalibration Programme after its registration ended on December 31, 2023.
