Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, on Police Commemoration Day, highlighted the critical link between law and order and economic growth, pledging support for an independent police force. He announced plans to invest Rs 2,000 crore for 10,000 police housing units by 2025, establish 100 new police stations, and open seven public schools for officers' children. He also honored the 216 police personnel who died in duty, including 12 from Karnataka.
