BMW China's joint venture launches geothermal project to achieve 100% non-fossil heating by 2025, cutting emissions.

BMW Brilliance Automotive Ltd. (BBA), a joint venture of BMW Group in China, has launched a geothermal energy project in Shenyang, aiming for 100% non-fossil heating for its factories by the 2025 heating season. The initiative involves drilling 28 geothermal wells, covering about 580,000 square meters, and is expected to cut annual carbon emissions by 18,000 tonnes. This project reflects BMW's commitment to sustainability and ongoing investments in the region.
