Ishwar Singha, a 51-year-old police constable in Silchar, Assam, reportedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service weapon after completing his duty at the Circuit House. He was found in his restroom and later pronounced dead at Silchar Medical College. Superintendent of Police Numal Mahatta is investigating the case, having seized the firearm and cartridge as evidence, and Singha's family has been notified.
