South Korea plans to construct four small modular reactors (SMRs) as part of its 11th basic energy plan. These reactors, which have a generating capacity of 170 to 350 megawatts, offer flexibility and scalability compared to traditional nuclear reactors. Senior aide Park Sang-wook expressed hope for bipartisan support, highlighting SMRs as a potential growth driver and key export product for the nation.
