flag Schenectady City Council unanimously approves naming two street sections after restaurant owners Marlene Hill and Luigi Battaglioli.

The Schenectady City Council has unanimously approved naming a section of Barrett Street "Marlene Hill Way" and another "Luigi Lane" to honor influential restaurant owners Marlene Hill and Luigi Battaglioli. This decision follows a compromise to respect both families' wishes. Hill, who ran Luigi's Restaurant until her murder in 2006, purchased it from Battaglioli in 1981. The street signs are expected to be installed soon.
