Flooding along the Senegal River has affected 774 households and around 55,600 people, damaging 1,002 hectares of farmland, particularly impacting chili, rice, and maize crops. In response, President Bassirou Diomaye Faye has allocated 8 billion CFA francs (about $13.3 million) for immediate relief efforts. The government is also planning long-term solutions, including infrastructure upgrades to prevent future flooding.
