A 57-year-old man from Queensland has been charged with multiple offenses, including aggravated rape, related to the 1988 rape of a 19-year-old woman in St Kilda, Victoria. The victim was allegedly abducted while walking on Carlisle Street and assaulted at Elwood Beach. The case, initially reported in 1988, was reopened in May 2021 after new information emerged. The accused is set to appear in Melbourne Magistrates' Court on January 17.
