On October 18, 2024, Greek authorities arrested a 39-year-old man near Metaxourgeio Square for a homicide linked to a murder-for-hire case in Turkey. Additionally, a 66-year-old man was detained at Eleftherios Venizelos airport on human trafficking charges for facilitating the exploitation of Moldovan women to Cyprus in 2014. Both individuals were remanded to prosecutors for further investigation.
