Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has initiated a new price control department, aiming for full operation within six months. The plan includes a special monitoring unit using artificial intelligence and forecast bulletins to stabilize market rates. Efforts will focus on boosting local agriculture, particularly sunflower, soybean, and canola, to reduce reliance on palm oil. An Agri Monitoring Fund will also be created to connect farmers with buyers and ensure fair pricing.
