Georgetown County Detention Center officer Peter Sawyer has been arrested and fired for allegedly engaging in sexual misconduct with an inmate, according to Sheriff Carter Weaver. Charged with sexual misconduct and misconduct in office, Sawyer reportedly turned off his body camera during the incident, which occurred on September 11-12. He is currently in a regional detention facility awaiting a bond hearing following an investigation by local and state law enforcement.
