Hurricane Milton in Florida resulted in seabirds being buried in sand and grass due to storm surges. Two young boys discovered and rescued dehydrated cormorants, which were then taken to a Venice facility for rehabilitation, as the usual Seaside Seabird Sanctuary was damaged by Hurricane Helene. Shelley Vickery from Birds in Helping Hands noted the unusual nature of the event. The birds are now recovering successfully.
