Bryn Medical Center settles Medicare billing allegations for $1.148M over improper electro-acupuncture device coding.
Bryn Medical Center, formerly Apple Corporate Wellness in Chattanooga, will pay $1,148,598 to settle allegations of improper Medicare billing for electro-acupuncture devices. The clinic allegedly used incorrect coding for surgically implanted neurostimulator devices from June 28, 2016, to June 19, 2017, despite the devices not being surgically implanted. The settlement resolves the claims, which remain allegations without a liability determination.
