New Zealand's government considers amending dairy export quota allocation system.

The New Zealand government is considering the Dairy Industry Restructuring (Export Licences Allocation) Amendment Bill, which seeks to change dairy export quota allocation from a system based on milk solids collected to one based on export history. The bill also aims to reserve quotas for low-volume and ineligible exporters and to include non-bovine dairy products. Public submissions are open until November 17, 2024.
