In Malaysia's Budget 2025, the government has allocated RM150 million to local authorities and the Department of Irrigation and Drainage to address flooding by cleaning drains and dredging rivers. Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced this funding in response to recent flash floods in major cities. The budget also includes nearly RM600 million for disaster management and RM250 million for slope repairs to mitigate flood risks.
