India's Supreme Court lifts stay on trial of Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh for sacrilege cases.

The Supreme Court of India has lifted a stay on the trial of Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, leader of Dera Sacha Sauda, concerning three 2015 sacrilege cases involving the desecration of the Guru Granth Sahib. The Punjab government's appeal successfully challenged the earlier halt imposed by the Punjab and Haryana High Court. Singh, currently serving a 20-year sentence for rape and murder, must now respond to the court within four weeks.
