Children's Health Ireland (CHI) Hospital in Crumlin has issued a formal apology and agreed to a €5 million settlement for two-year-old Kitty Mae Hayes, who suffers from severe brain damage due to care failures during her treatment. The hospital admitted liability for "repeated egregious failings" that resulted in Kitty Mae's condition, which includes cerebral palsy and epilepsy. The funds will support her care for the next four years and enable her family to seek additional treatments abroad.
