Ventura County judge denies Andrew Luster's early release; convicted rapist remains in prison until 2025.

Andrew Luster, great-grandson of Max Factor, was denied early release from prison by a Ventura County judge. Convicted in 2003 on 86 counts of drugging and raping women, he was initially sentenced to 124 years, later reduced to 50. A parole board reversed an earlier decision to release him, citing factual errors in his case classification. District Attorney Erik Nasarenko emphasized Luster's ongoing threat to public safety. He is next eligible for parole in 2025.
