Tomato prices in Delhi-NCR exceeding Rs 100 per kg are expected to decline due to increased supplies from Maharashtra.

Tomato prices in Delhi-NCR, currently exceeding Rs 100 per kg, are likely to decline soon due to increased supplies from Maharashtra, as stated by Consumer Affairs Secretary Nidhi Khare. The National Cooperative Consumers' Federation of India (NCCF) is selling tomatoes at a subsidized rate of Rs 65 per kg in Delhi-NCR and Mumbai. The price surge stems from crop disruptions in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh due to monsoon rains and heightened festive demand.
