A rare Roman brass arm guard from the 2nd century is now permanently displayed at the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh. Discovered in 1906 near Melrose in over 100 pieces, it is one of only three known examples from the Roman Empire and the most intact. The arm guard, serving as both protection and a status symbol, is showcased with a section of iron body armor, providing insights into the life of Roman legionaries in Scotland.
