Indonesian President Joko Widodo has appointed Teguh Setyabudi as the new acting governor of Jakarta, succeeding Heru Budi Hartono, who served since October 2022. Setyabudi, previously the Director General of Population and Civil Registration, was chosen by the Jakarta Regional People's Representative Council. Jakarta's next governor will be elected by over 8.2 million residents on November 27, with three candidate pairs competing.
