On October 16, 2024, an explosion at RapidXchange Propane in Brookshire, Texas, injured one man, who is now in stable condition. Fourteen people were evacuated, and no fatalities were reported. The fire, which produced visible flames and smoke, has been contained, but FM 2855 and FM 529 remain closed. Air quality is good, and a burn ban is in effect due to wildfire risks. The cause of the explosion is currently under investigation.
