Alameda County DA Price addresses 1,000-case misdemeanor backlog, expands team and staff.
Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price is tackling a backlog of approximately 1,000 misdemeanor cases that have exceeded filing deadlines. The backlog, attributed to inadequate case tracking and staffing issues, has drawn criticism from opponents, particularly amid Price's upcoming recall vote in November. Her predecessor, Nancy O'Malley, disputes claims of leaving a backlog.
