Surgeons at the Institute for Neurological Sciences in Glasgow have performed the UK's first spinal surgery using mixed reality technology. The innovative Spine Mixed Reality Navigation system allows for a more accurate and less invasive procedure by combining intraoperative X-rays with external images. The first patient, 75-year-old Carol Toal, experienced significant relief from chronic leg pain following her surgery, which corrected spinal misalignment and treated a cyst.
