Radiant completes passive cooldown test for 1MW nuclear Kaleidos microreactor for disaster relief, supported by US Department of Energy.

Radiant, a nuclear technology firm, has completed a successful passive cooldown test for its Kaleidos microreactor, which can generate 1MW of power—enough for 1,000 homes. This portable reactor, designed for rapid deployment, features meltdown-proof TRISO fuel that withstands 1,600°C. Supported by the U.S. Department of Energy, the microreactor aims to provide CO2-free energy for disaster relief, with the first units expected by 2026.
