On October 15, North Yorkshire Police pursued a vehicle connected to a Durham burglary, reaching speeds over 140 mph on the A1. After the car evaded an initial stop at Wetherby Services, officers used a stinger device to deflate its tyres. The suspects fled on foot but were apprehended in Aberford. Two men, aged 25 and 29, were arrested on multiple charges, including burglary and dangerous driving, and were transferred to Durham Constabulary.
