Roman Ruiz, the mayor of Candelaria Loxicha in Oaxaca, Mexico, was fatally stabbed due to an interpersonal conflict, making him the second mayor killed in under ten days, following Alejandro Arcos of Chilpancingo on October 6. Ruiz was hospitalized after the attack but did not survive. The Oaxaca State Prosecutor's Office is investigating the incident, and Governor Salomon Jara has promised that justice will be pursued.
