A motorhome fire near Pleasant View Motel resulted in a traffic impact, and a separate motel structure fire was extinguished.
On Tuesday evening in Summerland, a motorhome caught fire near the Pleasant View Motel, prompting a response from eight firefighters. They initially controlled the blaze but withdrew due to burning overhead wires. The power utility was called to de-energize the lines for safety. The cause remains under investigation. Separately, a structure at the motel also caught fire, which was extinguished by 8 p.m. Traffic on Highway 97 was affected, but the road remained open.
