Meta's Threads app is launching an "activity status" feature, enabling users to see when others are online, aimed at fostering real-time engagement. Announced by Instagram's head, Adam Mosseri, on June 21, the feature displays a green bubble by users’ profiles. While users can opt out for privacy, some express concerns about its relevance given the absence of direct messaging. The rollout is ongoing but not universally available yet.
