32 League of Legends employees laid off by Riot Games for strategic focus, not cost-saving.

Riot Games, developer of League of Legends, has announced the layoff of 32 employees, including 27 from the League team. Co-founder Marc Merrill emphasized that the layoffs are not for cost-saving but to retain necessary expertise for the game's future growth. Affected staff will receive severance packages with six months' pay and job placement assistance. This follows a previous round of layoffs in January affecting 530 workers.
