Irish Court of Appeal overturns Noel Noonan's drug possession conviction due to hearsay evidence misuse.

The Court of Appeal in Ireland has overturned the conviction of Limerick man Noel Noonan, sentenced to eight and a half years for possessing nearly €140,000 worth of drugs. The court ruled that a tip-off phone call about the drugs, which was deemed hearsay, should not have been admitted at trial. This misstep significantly impacted the jury's decision, leading to the quashing of the conviction and the case being sent back to Naas Circuit Court for retrial.
