From July to October 2024, the police arrested 10,852 suspects, recovered 416 firearms, and rescued 369 kidnapping victims, indicating a decrease in crime rates. Egbetokun emphasized proactive measures ahead of the Ondo State gubernatorial election and the upcoming "ember" months, traditionally linked to increased crime.
