Fatal pedestrian accident on westbound Highway 50 in Sacramento, under investigation.
A fatal pedestrian accident occurred early Wednesday morning on westbound Highway 50 in Sacramento, near the Highway 99 connector. A man was struck by a vehicle around 5:20 a.m. and pronounced dead shortly after. The cause of the crash is still under investigation. Traffic was significantly impacted, leading the California Highway Patrol to issue a SigAlert, restricting lanes until around 7:30 a.m. The identity of the victim will be released by the coroner's office.
